Teengirl Fantasy and Lafawndah’s “Lung” – taken from their upcoming Thermal EP – would implode any thermometer.
— Suze Olbrich, Dazed
The haunting beats paired with the sensual beauty and angelic vocals of Lafawndah make “Lung” a must-see.
— Danielle O’Neil, ALT CITIZEN
Alien and unsettling but visually and aurally pleasing, the video has us amped for the remainder of Thermal.
— Liz Raiss, The FADER

LaFawndah and Teengirl Fantasy's video Lung was produced as part of the NYPAC summer residency I <3 Fire Island

Born in Tehran and raised in Paris, the New York based singer and producer LaFawndah cut her musical teeth as a member of Nidada, an all-girl group she founded with friends in Mexico City in 2011. She has been performing solo since late 2012 including stints during Art Basel Miami Beach, Glenn O'Brien's recent TV Party revival and LA's infamous MustacheMonday. LaFawndah's vocal stylings invite comparison to the beauty and seduction of Sade while the confidence, empowered sexuality and self-granted freedom evoke the energy of Grace Jones. While these references come to mind, LaFawndah has staged an entirely new musical landscape to explore.

Nick Weiss, an Oberlin College and Conservatory and Gerrit Rietveld Academie Alumni, released his second LP with Logan Takahashi as Teengirl Fantasy on historic Belgian techno label R&S records in 2012.  The group tours extensively worldwide and has performed at numerous art institutions such as Moma PS1, MAD Museum, Cleveland Museum, New Museum, National Gallery of Victoria, Brooklyn Museum, and Bergen Kunsthall.  Teengirl Fantasy's visual aesthetic remains ever as important as the audio, and they are known for their former official 'teenfan' website http://teengirlfantasy.angelfire.com and collaborations with "Wifi-based" artist Kari Altmann.
